| Yoshimatsu04-07-06, 09:45 PM | I have been wondering for a long while whether or not wizards know all the 0 level spells from books other than the Player's Handbook. It seems to me like it would be overly good, but I want to know for sure. |
| Seeker9504-07-06, 10:00 PM | Depends 100% on the DM. In my game, they know the PHB cantrips only. Everything else they must find, buy or research. |
| Wind of Darkness04-08-06, 11:20 AM | I personally would say PHB only. Otherwise, your spellbook gets spells added to it for free every time your DM allows a new supplement. It just doesn't make sense to me... |
| green_yawgmoth04-08-06, 12:45 PM | I'd allow it, because knowing all cantrips still doesn't change the fact that you only get a measly 4/day. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |

| green_yawgmoth04-08-06, 06:48 PM | green, your blanket allowal raises the question... How do you handle *new* cantrips? The character had all known cantrips when he first wrote up his book (and character). If new cantrips are developed (printed) while he's out killing dragons and saving princesses, he'll have to borrow some other wizard's book to get them down next time he's in town. Although, I do have to admit that I've never DMed a wizard character; all of my spellcasting PCs are bards or sorcerers. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
