| Sir Eliason02-06-04, 03:27 PM | just a quick question. I know the difference between a 1 round spell and a full action round spell. As far as combat goes, the only 1 round spells that come to mind are the "summon monsters". My question is if a caster is casting a 1 round spell is he actually casting unti his next initiative? and if he gets smacked during that time, he needs to make concentration checks, correct? I stress this is for 1 round spell not a full round action spell. |
| Heron_Marked_Blade02-06-04, 03:36 PM | From the 3.5 description of casting spells, under Concentration: The interrupting event strikes during spellcasting if it comes between when you start and when you complete a spell (for a spell with a casting time of 1 full round or more) or if it comes in response to your casting the spell (such as an attack of opportunity provoked by the spell or a contingent attack, such as a readied action). So in answer to your question: Yes, if the caster takes damage at any time between when he starts casting the spell and his next initiative, he must make a concentration check (DC 10 + damage taken + spell level). |
