1. Prestigitation- untying the BBEG's belt and then running while he pulls up his pants.

Oh, I was hoping we were going to think of LEGAL uses of low-level spells.

This is more of what have you done with low level spells that have had great effects (such as preventing your impending death) thread.

Like placing an arcane mark on the eyes of that charging ancient red dragon wyrm, rendering it blind so the party could escape? Sure, the story has some connection with the rules, such as the names of the spells and the creature, but that's where the similarities end.

IMHO, real good stories are when you use those spells to great effect in a way supported by the rules. This is more a kind of 'what crazy stuff did your DM let you get away with' thread.

Assuming that the last post counted as #2...
I was playing a game with a Sor/Rog Illumian. The party began the game transporting a caravan across a desert to a town. The patron was a Cleric of Pelor and was going to the town to serve as its new healer. Upon safe passage, the church of Pelor offered us free room and board for a week, which we all gladly took up. The third night, I left the church. Earlier that day I had visited the general store to sell three maces I had looted off of goblins we had encountered in the desert. I made 7 gp. More importantly, I saw where he kept his money. The town had been under pressure by a thief calling himself the Unseen Bandit. So, at night, I came back to the store, making sure that no one saw me. This brings me to the event in question:

3. Open on door to general store. Open on cash register. Mage hand the money out of it. Began to walk away. Passed by town watch. Ghost sound on store to sound like a window breaking and a person saying something to the effect of "The Unseen Bandit strikes again!"

I would use 0 and 1st level spells to commit roguish actions without the rest of my party knowing.

Yay finally a non-complaining poster!:D

Prestigitation performs minor tricks such as dancing lights or creating a new object or smoke. Therefore it should be ably to untie a simple knot.

But the Knot in your example is an attended item thus they get at worst a save vs the effect.
In other words good RP bad RAW.

#3 When being hunted by a group of 20 Goblins out in the woods at first lvl I used Ghost Sound to scare and scatter them so we could fight them in smaller groups.

I'm wouldn't allow that. That seems to be beyond the range of what Presti can usually do, and indeed it supercedes an existing cantrip (Mage Hand)

Using Obscuring Mist and Ventrilquism (and an AMAZING bluff skill) our beguiler convinced a cleric that his diety was speaking to him and to jump into a pool of lava ...

Another one not super great but still was handy, if not a bit tacky.

Silent Image to gather the party members in a city.
Make a huge colorful sign in the sky for them to meet you somewhere.

Well in a Red Hand Campaign I was doing, we just finished clearing out a small keep and ended up finding a giant who we asked to help us. We bribed him with a gauntlet that we found off a giant skeleton at the keep. He refused to help us so in the morning I asked to look at the gauntlet and using mage hand I levitated it and wrote in the dirt "Help the Adventures" Using my amazing bluff I said it was a message from his ancestors. He ended up helping us fight some goblins.

I once used Prestidigitation on my Sorcerer to turn the Half-Orc Barbarian in our party bright, neon Pink.
