| Watchdog_of_Hades03-21-06, 06:58 PM | The Bestow Curse mentions that you have have curses do mean things to people other than ability score reduction, etc. I'd like to create a little list of ways you can make someone's life hard with Curse/Greater. I doubt this'll get to 1001, but hey. Please number your ideas and say whether they're from Bestow Curse or Bestow Greater Curse (Book of Vile Darkness). It's okay if it's more powerful than Bestow Curse but not insanely good. It'll just be Bestow Greater. 1. Greater: All food or drink touched by the target with the intent of ingestion turns to gold. Generally, this produces an amount of gold with the value of (the weight of the food) times 900 gp. This may seem good, but the guy'll die of thirst or starvation. If the gold leaves the target's possession or if the curse is removed, it turns into lead. Living creatures cannot be affected by this spell. 2. Normal: Gashes continually appear and heal on the creature. Every minute, the creature takes 1d6 damage and heals 1d6 damage. This cannot put the creature above its maximum hit points. The pain of this inflicts a -1 penalty on all rolls by the target and after 48 hours, he is fatigued. After another 72 hours, he is exhausted from the lack of sleep, as the pain is too distracting to get much rest. For long journeys, etc, roll a d20 and another die twice per day. If the other die is even, the creature heals the amount on the d20. If odd, he takes that much. 3. Greater: The target is possessed by a type of fiend of the caster's choice. The caster cannot specify an individual, only a type (hezrou, bebilith, gelugon). The fiend must meet the requirements for possession in the BoVD and can have up to the caster's level in HD. Usually, the fiend is a Controller or an Enemy, but it could be persuaded to be a Rider or even an Ally. |

If the boby part that is changed is an appropriate type, the subject may gain an appropriate natural attack, although this attack is treated as a secondary weapon and receives the -5 penalty because the creature is not used to the claw/bite/tail/etc.. |
| yourReality03-21-06, 07:33 PM | 5. regular: Randomly pick a chakra on that characters body (place to place a magical item) and that specific portion of the body cannot weild magical items. such as choosing a neck would result in no using amulets or periapts. :evillaugh |
| KublaiKhan03-21-06, 11:38 PM | 6: Regular. Every time the character makes a declarative statement, a figment of his voice adds "In accordance with the Prophecy" to the end of said statement. For instance: "It's a nice day today" "in accordance with the Prophecy!" "I'd like the pancakes." "In accordance with the Prophecy!" "I'm sorry, it's not actually me." "In accordance with the Prophecy!" "Please don't threaten me with that large sword" "In accordance with the Prophecy!" "But I don't want to be gutted" "In accordance with the Prophecy!" ....you get the idea. 7: Regular: Whenever the subject is within twenty yards of their preferred sex, they are covered in an illusion of a very inappropriate sort of garb. For instance, as a sort of DM wrath for a Paladin becoming an ex-paladin, a cursed ring inflicted him with the curse of Frank N. Furter [ as played by Tim Curry ] when in the presence of females. |
