I'm building a low level Gnome Illusionist/Enchanter and I was drawing blanks on how to utilize some of these spells.

Silent image, ghost sound, Suggestion, Charm person ... besides the things suggest in the text - I'm drawing a blank on effective ways to use these spells.

I would like it if ya'll would contribute as many good examples of Illusions/Enchantment spells of 3rd level or lower.

make a silent image+ghost sound combo for a powerful monster(s) attack on your enemies

what else spells do you have?

i might have some ideas for those......

dude, how can you be specialized in TWO schools? How many schools do you have to cut? And above all, can you do that?

I an ok I am playing a grey elf beguilar in an upcoming campaign and am writing down all things I have seen on the boards. This is what I have so far:
Illusions:

Blind all enemies with blind folds
Illusionary cage with spikes and dripping with poison
Illusion of a pit trap
Cover over a Pit trap
Running through a dungeon, create a wall for concealment
Illusionary combatant.

Suggestion or Bluff:
Be careful! Someone cast a spell on you, and if you move, you will explode. Wait here while I go get help!
You want to go home and rethink your life.
You weapons may become damaged if used against me...you should not use your weapons against me.
Your gold is much to heavy to carry.
You are only dreaming, the only way to wake up is to die... (combine with illusions)

I would however be open to many mroe Ideas, If you don't know a beguilar is like a warmage but have Enchantment and Illusion Spells instead.

And on the specialising in two schools, don't take it so rules wise lameexcuses
I am sure what he means is that they are the two schools of magic he primarily intends on using.

a classic: create total darkness with Silent Image.

to further enhance it: tell your friends through codewords ("sim sala bim" = illusions !) that this is in fact an illusion: so auto save for them an + 4 to the save.

BTW, illusionary blindfolds?....is that possible?

i wanted to focus on illusions & enchantments.
yeah, by the classic definitions "specializing" in a school usually means swearing off 2 others (spare div) - i just want to have a character that focus's on illusion & enchantment.

does that make sense?

two spells would screw you tight.

True Seeing? and what else - some sort of druid sensor spell? Or Mind Blank that makes you immune to all mind-affecting spells for 24hrs? AMF ?

This build is really geared for the 3rd lvl & under spells. And that is when illusions & enchantments are under valued for fireball/lighting bolt & magic missile.

I'm curious which two 3rd level or lower you are thinking about are ....

http://www.enworld.org/archive/index.php/t-145903.htm Has Lots of 'bad' suggestions. Depending on how lenient your dm is you might find some useful.

My favorite use for minor image: fog cloud (obscurement if your dm rules against total darkness), or a wall 5' away from an actual wall for the party to hide inside of. You can use that to flee, set up an ambush, or mid-combat just to gain total concealment (50%) miss chance to those that fail their saves and don't want to walk through the illusion. As mentioned as long as your group has a message from you they should save at +4, even if they fail they can walk through it. Instead of a wall, you could make a large fallen tree, giant boulder or whatever fits into the environment.

The next would be molds or puddings, depending on how well known they are. Or certain creatures that don't move/make noise, like golems, gargoyles, flying owls.

Then there's my all time favorite illusion, love.
