Can 3.0 Enlarge increase your size form Medium to Large?

Can any one link me to the rule for this?

3.0 Version does not increase your size catagory. 3.5 version on the other hand does.

are you sure because the spell says in 3.0 that it increases size up to 50% so if you where tall enough or so it would seem that it could increase you size neough to make you large but i didn't see any rules on this at all for 3.0

I don't think there is one.
Generally apply what the spell states you should apply, the strength increase and the change in weight. Spells like animal growth and righteous might automatically increase your size to the next category while enlarge is more subjective.
A size category increase is a hefty advantage because it can give things like reach, +4 bonuses to opposed grapples, trips and similar mechanics.
My rule of thumb is to compare to existing monsters. For humans the ogre is the smallest "large" humanoid and if the enlarged person's stats fall within that range then I give them large category size.

In 3.0, the Sage officially ruled that Enlarge can NOT increase your size.

Keep in mind that 3.0 Enlarge was a very different spell.

One of the major differences was the fact that it was Enlarge, not Enlarge Person.

So it could work on any creature, not just a humanoid.

It also would work on Doors, which when they became enlarged, became stuck (think a tight wooden door built in the winter. In the hot summer, they expand, and get stuck).

Reduce was similar, making it VERY handy for "opening" coffins. Just reduce the top and the coffin opens without any person having to risk getting biten by the vampire that you just know is inside it.

The Sage is and clearly was an official Source for 3.0 stuff (Back then Dragon was publiched directly by WoTC and The Sage was Skip Williams). You raised some reasonable arguments about him not being official for current 3.5 stuff, but not for 3.0

There is no mention of it in the FAQ or the errata, which appear to be the only sources you will accept.

However, I have recently, in part due to things you wrote in the email, came to some new ideas about how I want to post.

So :

Strict players and Loose Players will rule that as per the clear wording and intent of the spell, The Spell can not in any way change your size category.

Power Gamers and "anything goes" people will say, if your character is tall enough and the caster high enough level that you can change your size. Note, if you combine the 50% and the size change, the benefits to the player are now better than most 2nd level spells. I would take it for example, over Bull Strength. (at least a bull strength without Empower)

How you play is upto you and your DM.

As far as official, you can examine the size categories. While they did list specific heights that were breaking points, the general rule is that each doubling was a size increase. I didn't pull out my 3.0 phb, but that's how I remember it. That could have been skips reasoning.
