| Xanthia10-07-05, 11:47 PM | I keep hearing about how Haste in 3.0 allows Mages to cast twice as many spells per round. Personally, I always thought that casting a spell (most spells, anyway) took a standard action (and that two partial actios equal a standard action). So when we used Haste in 3.0, we always had the Mage cast one spell in the first round, and spend his partial action to begin casting a spell. He'd finish the spell with his extra partial action in the second round, and then cast a third spell as his standard action in the second round. So, the way we read the spell, Haste lets a caster shoot 3 spells every 2 rounds. Was I wrong? Does it really only take a partial action to cast a spell, and a Hasted mage could launch two spells a round? |

When you're slowed, you only get a partial action, which means you get a standard action or a move action, but not both. When you're hasted, you get your normal standard action, your normal move action, and an extra partial action. |
