| BigAlzBub05-18-04, 04:29 AM | We were playing a game of 3.0 the other night and our wizard cast mass haste on the party and then a little later he cast time stop on himself. There was quite a bit of discussion as to what how exactly the spells interacted with each other. The questions asked boiled down to, does the wizard get an extra partial action each turn? (we decided no, because he is already moving at nearly infinite speed) and do the extra rounds gained count against the effect of the Haste? (again we decided no, for the same reason). I'd be interested to hear what other people think. |
| CaoSlayer05-18-04, 04:40 AM | My two zents... I would rule that the mage gets this extra action before or after the time stop, not while. so its counts as a round for all the spells including haste. |

So if you caste haste then time stop and lets say you roll 2. You will get 3xMEA and 3xStandart action. When time stop ends you still have MEA left the one you didn't use when you casted haste and time stop. I think it was explained in faq for 3.0 |

The player doesn't know if he has 2 rounds or 6 rounds of apparent time. Also remember you can't cast just any spell during time stop. Only effect spells can be cast during a time stop. Spells like "energy drain" are effect spells, spell like "dominate person" are not. See p.148-149 for the distinction between a targeted spell, a spell effect and an area spell. You basically can cast a whole pile of rays and spreads during "time stop". There are a few other things you need to keep tabs on, in particular if the players are fighting on holy/unholy ground (as per spell hallow/unhallow) then time stop fails because you can't enter such an area while under timestop. Great spell. |
