Is there any reason why the spell Hide Life from T&B should not work with the Share Spells ability for a familiar? I can't see any reason why not, from a purely rules perspective. Does this seem unbalanced?

Assuming that it does work, do the life-forces familiar and the wizard both go into the same receptacle, or do they each need to sever a body part and protect them separately?

Also, does anyone think that there would be any complications from the fact that my familiar is an air elemental (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/sb/sb20011109a)? I assume the body parts of air elementals don't evaporate or anything weird if removed from the original creature, right?

It should work. Although both life forces should go into seperate receptacles.
As for an air elemental familiar, I would bottle some of its substance.

It seems legal, since the spell has an Instantaneous duration. This is much like sharing a Wish to increase your attributes with your familiar. Since there is no duration, then there is no chance of the spell "ending" if you get separated. In both cases, the spell "ended" the moment after you cast it.

So, then, I take it no one thinks this is over-powered?
