Please help me figure out if 1) its possible to make this item and 2) that its cost is correct to craft.

I want to make a +1 Tower Shield made of darkwood but has the Druid's Ironwood spell cast on it.

Component Name Cost
=================================
Tower Shield 30gp
+1 Enahncement bonus 1,000gp
Darkwood 460gp (46 lbs. x 10gp)
Ironwood (1/day) 11,880gp* (see below)
---------------------------------
Total 13,370gp

* Ironwood spell, Level 6 cast by a level 11 Druid
Base Cost: 6 x 11 x 1,800gp (Command word) = 118,800gp
Charges per day: 118,800gp / (5/1 charge per day) = 23,760gp
Spell has a 24-hour duration or greater: 23,760gp / 2 = 11,880gp

Stats without Ironwood spell activated:
Hardness: 7 (5 + 2/enhancement bonus)
HP: 30 (20 + 10hp/enhancement bonus)

Stats with Ironwood spell activated (same as Steel):
Hardness: 12 (10 + 2/enhancement bonus)
HP: 35 (25 + 10hp/enhancement bonus)

Wood has 5 Hardness and 10hp/inch of thickness.
A tower shield has 20 hp so is the equivalent to about 2 inches of wood??? (is this a correct assumption)
Steel has a 10 Hardness and 30hp/inch of thickness.

Now a normal Tower shield is really made up a mostly wood, but bands of metal holding it together which may give it some of its original 20 hp. Am I correct to assume that a tower shield should have about 25% more HP when made out of steel?

A heavy steel shield has 33% more HP than a wooden heavy shield, however a light steel shield has 42% more HP. So I took a tower shield would have 25% more hp based on its size.

Is this correct?

from ironwood spell:
..is as strong, heavy, and resistant to fire as steel. wouldn't that make using darkwood pointless? or does it still weight only half as much?

You would probably be better of using a permanent iron wood effect. I believe there was a special materials listing for ironwood made equipment somewhere.

Does anyone have a reference to the "special ironwood matieral"?
