I just noticed this:Bracers of Archery, Greater: These wristbands look like normal protective wear. The bracers empower the wearer to use any bow (not including crossbows) as if she were proficient in its use. If she already has proficiency with any type of bow, she gains a +2 competence bonus on attack rolls and a +1 competence bonus on damage rolls whenever using that type of bow. Both bracers must be worn for the magic to be effective.

Moderate transmutation; CL 8th; Craft Wondrous Item, Craft Magic Arms and Armor; Price 25,000 gp;Weight 1 lb.Notice that this item uses both craft feats to give +2 to hit and +1 to damage when using a bow.

Does this mean that that bracers could be used like armor or weapons for additional properties? Could you, say, create a set of Bracers that have armor or weapon properties?

What do you guys think?

I say no.
Others say yes.
Do what you want in your campaign.

If Bracers are not armor (there's a thread about that already), and they are not a weapon (I'm not aware of a thread about that - Wonder Woman???), then what are bracers if you need both the Craft Wondrous Item and Craft Magical Arms & Armor feats to give a plus to hit and damage?

If Bracers are not armor , and they are not a weapon , then what are bracersBracers are armor that the designers did not choose to call armor. Since the designers did not choose to call them armor, they can be used freely by monks, druids, and any other class that has armor restrictions without the consequences or penalties associated with those armor restrictions.

They are like the helmet.
Definitely armor in the real world.
No mundane function in the game world.
A loophole waiting to be broken as a magic item.

The Arms and Equipment Guide provides rules for adding armor enchancements to bracers of armor.
