Chill Touch Necromancy Level: Sor/Wiz 1 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Touch Targets: Creature or creatures touched (up to one/level) Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Fortitude partial or Will negates; see text Spell Resistance: Yes A touch from your hand, which glows with blue energy, disrupts the life force of living creatures. Each touch channels negative energy that deals 1d6 points of damage. The touched creature also takes 1 point of Strength damage unless it makes a successful Fortitude saving throw. You can use this melee touch attack up to one time per level. An undead creature you touch takes no damage of either sort, but it must make a successful Will saving throw or flee as if panicked for 1d4 rounds +1 round per caster level. -- So if you level 2 you could touch someone successfully twice in the same round. I would assume also if you had a BAB of 6+ you could use up your extra attacks as well? Additionally, spells like Haste that give you extra attacks would allow you to use up attacks upto your level? I also assume that a Monk can use his Flurry of Blows ability upto the number of attacks of your level? |
| Bloodtide_the_Red11-06-04, 06:36 AM | Yes. You can use chill touch as many times in a round as you can make touch attacks. However, two-weapon fighting will not work, as only one of your hands is charged with the Chill Touch spell. Now I don't think this is spelled out anywhere, but it should be. You could stab with a dagger and use your chill touch with two weapon fighting though. BT |

Probably better on familiars with several attacks like the cat, hasted = 4 attacks ( claw, claw, bite, hasted claw or bite) but I had to make do with what I had. or polymorph yourself into a troglodyte ( claw, claw, bite, hasted bite or claw). 4 saves required means that one will generally fail, ( if you are ambushing try using fox's cunning as well to increase the save DC's), this will take out even high CR undead. |
