If Mage Armor is "An invisible but tangible field of force..." how can a Magic Missle get though the force without having to bypass the AC?

Basically what I'm saying is does a Magic Missle have to be treated as a Ray against Mage Armored targets?

Because magic missile is unerring, and mage armor is not impenetrable. Its really very simple actually. If nothing could get through mage armor, then it would say that it stops all force. That means swords couldn't work, nothing. Magic missile is pure force, and unless something says that it stops attacks completely magic missile is just going to ignore it.

Protected by a cube of force? ok. Protected by prismatic sphere? ok. Protected by mage armor? Nope, sorry, that isn't enough.

Thank You all and have a nice day.

But, but, but... rays are usually touch attacks, so they ignore Mage Armor too...

Armor Class makes it harder to hit (by 5% increments)

A magic missile does not roll to hit, so there is no AC to bypass.

A ray has a roll to hit, so it must get through AC.
