| Harmor09-06-04, 05:18 PM | Continual Obscuring Cloud Conjuration (Creation) Level: Clr 3, Drd 3, Sor/Wiz 3 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: 10 ft. Effect: Cloud spreads in 5-ft. radius from you, 10 ft. high as you move Duration: 1 round/level Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: No A misty vapor arises around you continually as you move. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target). A moderate wind (11+ mph), such as from a gust of wind spell, disperses the fog in 4 rounds. A strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round. A fireball, flame strike, or similar spell burns away the fog in the explosive or fiery spell’s area. A wall of fire burns away the fog in the area into which it deals damage. This spell does not function underwater. Too powerful? I based this off the 0th level version... |
| Seeker9509-06-04, 07:49 PM | At this point I think you are treading too closely into the territory covered by existing core spells. You based your 0-level spell on obscuring mist. I'd start from there again, rather than from the derived spell. |

Basically, it is puffing out a 0-level spell that is based on a 1st level spell (or 2nd). Go back to the original 1st (2nd) level spell and then make adjustments to what you want this one to do. Start with obscuring mist or fog cloud and build your continual obscuring cloud from there. |
