Summon Mundane Item
Conjuration (Summoning)
Level: Brd 2, Sor/Wiz 2
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 round
Range: 0 ft.
Effect: One summoned handheld mundane item of less than 12.5gp value.
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell summons a mundane, non-magical item, worth 12.5gp or less, of your choice. This item appears in your hands or at your feet (your choice). The item is typical for its type. Only one mundane item appears per casting. You can’t summon a mundane item too large to be held in two hands.

Material Component: A gem worth at least 25gp.

What do you guys think?

With the material component, this is perfect. The price limit prevents masterwork items (and most weapons/armor) so I don't think it could be a problem.

Maybe I should make it "Create Mundane Item"? Since summoning would mean that its teleporting the item from somewhere???

If I did this then it would be "Conjouring" and not have the "Summoning" discriptor.

Do you think I should make a blurb about things like arrows or ammunition?

As the spell is written you couldn't summon a quiver of arrows...because that would be 20 arrows.

Hmm...

I would limit it to a single mundane item. Don't need to say "non-magical", since that is mundane..

Slight problem here, though: could you summon a small bag of sand?

Is there a weight limit or only the gp limit? How about scaling by level?

Do you need to make a craft check for more complex items, such as with the fabricate spell?

I think you're right about create vs. summon. Summoned items/creatures have a limited duration after which they disappear. In that line, I would change the duration to "instantaneous".

.........Summon Mundane Item....Conjuration (Summoning)
You'd want [Calling]here, as the item stays around forever.

..............Duration: Permanent...............
With this duration, the item can be dispeled and such. Instantaneous is the way to go.
