I need advice on any good 4th, 5th, & 6th level spells. I don't know which one to get (just turned into a 13th level sorceror). If there is any information that is needed, just ask. All I need is advice on choosing my spells. Keep in mind that this is a 3.0 character running by 3.0 rules in every way, shape, and form.

Thanks for all the help that is offered.

Well, that all depends on your play style. I can open the PHB and use almost all of the spells well. What type is your mage? Artillery Platform? Enchanter? Battle Control?

He doesn't have much of a strategy going. He is my first character and I play him as he goes (he plays life by the day, pretty much). I roleplay my character with that exact thought. We have gone against cloud giants, grey renders, umberhulks, even a cryohydra, and we are now in a forest. He is wearing armor (mithral shirt +2). He has a feat (taken twice) that allows him to cast in armor. Do you need to know much else?

Ok, I will just throw out some of the good ones you can use and I will just use the PhB for spells then:

4th
StoneSkin
Greater Invisability
Polymorph
Stone Shape
Scrying
Dimension Door

5th
Major Creation
Teleport
Dominate Person
Cone of Cold
Shadow Evocation
Permanency

6th
Dispel Magic, Greater
True Seeing
Chain Lightining
Flesh to Stone

Blah blah, again, I can use just about all of the spells well, these are just a few choice picks

Thanks. Could you give me some spells from any other books? We are in the Forgotten Realms campaign, if that helps. Anything from any book or anything from the net would help, I just don't know where to look for anything and I don't have the books, that's all.

It would be alot easier if you told us what spells you already have.

Off topic: your avatar bears a striking resemblance to Michael Jackson.

lol, good point. I'll just give what I have from 4-6 already.

-4th:
Greater Invisibility
Sonic Orb
Polymorph Self

-5th:
Firebrand (altered for sonic damage instead; "thunderbrand")
Hold Monster

-6th:
True Seeing

I hope that helps a little.

-Otiluke's Resilient Sphere
-Lesser Geas (Have DM'ed for a sorc who got huge milage out of this one!)

5th
-Mind Fog (reduce those Will saves)
-Cone of Cold
-Teleport

6th
-Greater Dispelling
-Disintegrate
-Chain Lightning
-True Seeing

Another great 4th level spell is Black Tentacles. However, its hard to match the versatility of Polymorph, especially with the limited spells known for a sorcerer. I'll dig up my 3.0PHB and get back to you shortly.

Depending on flavor preference...

4th level
Enervation
Fire Shield
Dimensional Anchor
Lower Spell Resistance (Draconomicon)

5th level
Feeblemind (probably the rudest thing you can do to an enemy spellcaster; beware spell turning, tho...)
Wall of Force
Teleport
Telekinesis

6th level
Disintegrate
Otiluke's Freezing Sphere (busted in half, in 3.0)
Project Image
Mass Haste
Contingency

Admittedly, all I did to come up with this list was look at my character's spell list and pull the ones I usually memorize... but I think that's as good a way as any. :)

I always liked GhostForm, from TaB, and MagicJar. The former is more useful in more settings, but Magic Jar can give you some flavor.
