If, for example, I carry a Sustentance ring, do I reduce the time needed to refresh spells?

I'm thinking that no, since even warforged need 8 hours to refresh spells... and they don't sleep...

You are correct.

You still don't get new spells every 8 hours - you have to wait 24 like everyone else. You do, however, reduce the need to sleep. You just can't do anything strenuous during the remainder of the 8 hour "rest" period.

No one gets new spells any more often than 24 hours, regardless of equipment or how often or how long they rest. Spells per day are just that.

There's a magic bedroll in complete arcane designed for spellcasters that want to recover spells quicker.

But after 1 hr of sleep. Heward's Bedroll.

The only way I know of to "regain" spells more often than once per day is to use a scroll of Mnemomic Enhancer or a similar spell

Is everyone forgeting pearls of power? >.<

You still have to go through that 8 hours of rest period before you can re learn your spells.

Ah Heward, the Batman of Mages

That's being sigged.

Some classes don't need eight hours rest to regain spells do they? I'm not certain but I don't think Cleric's need it.

Rest

To prepare her daily spells, a wizard must first sleep for 8 hours. The wizard does not have to slumber for every minute of the time, but she must refrain from movement, combat, spellcasting, skill use, conversation, or any other fairly demanding physical or mental task during the rest period. If her rest is interrupted, each interruption adds 1 hour to the total amount of time she has to rest in order to clear her mind, and she must have at least 1 hour of uninterrupted rest immediately prior to preparing her spells. If the character does not need to sleep for some reason, she still must have 8 hours of restful calm before preparing any spells.
Recent Casting Limit/Rest Interruptions

If a wizard has cast spells recently, the drain on her resources reduces her capacity to prepare new spells. When she prepares spells for the coming day, all the spells she has cast within the last 8 hours count against her daily limit.

Actually this is where hopefully your DM is actually using their brain and not just reading the rules. By RAW, a wizard can get ~3 times their spell limit in a day. If their DM lets them "rest" for 24 hours a day. In fact it would be off a small amount because of "study time." Though its not stated whether study time can be part of "the last 8 hours" there may have to be 9 hours between Nova attempts. Clerics are really the most screwed by this part, since they have to pray at the same time every day, not just after they "rest."

No, they can't. A wizard loses all their old spells when they prepare a new batch.

Oh c'mon. Before we start to give up and conclude wizards need at least 1 hr rest (howard's thingy) and 1 hr study, lets talk about how to define day.
Lets assume that the definition of day is 24 hr. Now all we need to do is find some plane where time goes freakishly fast and figure out where to jump on and off. I can't think of anything really screwy right now but I'm sure someone's got something.
