| DraytonThain02-06-05, 01:22 AM | im playing a lil halfling trickster kinda guy no, he is not an arcane trickster...but he does have some lower level spell ability. i want to create a spell or ability that allows him to jinx someone...you know, say something they say at the same time, then declare "JINX!!* and the target of the spell/ability must make a save or cant speak until someone says his name. yes, i know its silly...but thats part of the fun. anyone have any suggestions?? maybe something involving detect thoughts or some such thing?? any help would be...most...helpful :) |

You want to be able to play the jinx! game in the game. Rather than the "no speak" function, let the jinx serve as a minor curse. And rather than having it work only when you say the same thing as someone else, let it be a spell-like ability that works a certain number of times each day. From there, we would move on to the actual mechanics. I see this as more of a cantrip-level effect. And just to keep it more interesting, I would envision it as being random. When you jinx someone, you do not know the effect ahead of time. I think for sanity's sake, you would know which effect happned. Possible effects: -1 on next to hit roll -1 on next saving throw stumble on next move attempt (DC 10 balance check to avoid falling) next attempt at speech is garbled (concentration check needed if this is a spell) hiccups for one hour (see garbled speech) belc/expel gas etc. (no mechanics effect) This is only the start of a list. Would this fit your idea of a "jinx" spell-like ability? |
