I have two questions in my mind concerning the mechanics of the Warlock's invocations and Edlritch Blast. First, is the Eldritch Blast considered a weapon-like spell (as described later in the Complete Arcane), even if it is a Spell-Like-Ability? And second, unlesss I've overlooked something in the Monster Manual concerning Spell-Like-Abilities, where does one find the durations for invocations? Are they all instantaneous unless they specifically state that they generate an ongoing effect or what?

Technically, I think Eldritch Blast would have to be considered a weapon-like spell-like ability - it is still a spell-like ability, but shares many characteristics with weapon-like spells.

The only invocations that do not have a stated duration are either ones that are obviously instant effects, or are ones that mimic spells. For the ones that mimic spells and do not have a stated duration, I have assumed that the duration is the same as the spell it mimics. The only invocation that this causes a question on is Entropic Warding, which mimics two spells with different durations. My DM ruled that the duration of each effect of that invocation is separate - so the Entropic Shield effects lasts for minutes/level and the Pass Without Trace effect lasts for hours/level.
