| Arch Paladin11-21-05, 09:36 AM | I have a couple questions about magic, the first is: if i have a character who is a multiclassed Cleric/Sorceror, than how does his spell casting work? would he have a seperate amount of spells per day for his arcane and divine spells, or would he just use the larger amount of spells per day for both types of Magic? what if this character were a gestalt, how does he handle his spells per day then? Another question is about corrupted and Sanctified magic, what exactly are these types of magic and how do they work? |

He has two separate spells-per-day charts. He cannot use his cleric spells per day to cast sorcerer spells, or vice versa. Keep all the spellcasting information and lists for each class separate. However, if you take feats which enhance your spellcasting ability, such as a spell focus or metamagic, the feat applies to both casting classes, if possible. what if this character were a gestalt, how does he handle his spells per day then? Don't even ask me about gestalt. Another question is about corrupted and Sanctified magic, what exactly are these types of magic and how do they work? Don't even know what those are. |

As Novacat said, keep 'em separate. This is true even for a gestalt character. One really important thing to keep separate is your caster level. If you're a cleric 5/sorcerer 3, you do not have a caster level of 8. You have a cleric caster level of 5, and a sorcerer caster level of 3. Another question is about corrupted and Sanctified magic, what exactly are these types of magic and how do they work? Corrupt and Sanctify can be found in Book of Vile Darkness and Book of Exalted Deeds, respectively. |
