A free spell [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-14-05, 11:16 AM In the Suikoden series, the powerful mages use a magic attack in place of a weapon that doesn't count against the number of spells they can use in a day. Estella and Sasarai shoot small balls of energy. I was wondering if there was anyway to make something like that for D&D, sort of like a 0-level spell they can use as much as they want. I think that's cooler than a wizard trying to handle a quarterstaff.

02-14-05, 11:35 AM Take a single level of warlock? (ignoring the alignment restrictions) That way you'd have a 1d6 Energy Blast, usable at will.

02-15-05, 12:12 AM 1. You could always find a Race with the spell-like ability you want at will.

2.There is the Feat:Innate Spell, in Complete Arcane. It lets you convert a spell into a spell-like ability usable at will.
