Does anyone know if a contingency spell can be executed on a characters remains upon 'death' or in this case 'destruction?' I would like to contingency a teleport on whatever's left of my lich and his possessions upon reaching 0 or lower hit points to a safe house. Is this doable? If not, any idea how to retain possessions while waiting for the phylactery to kick in?

yeah, it would work because the contingency has been met after youre dead.

I don't think undead die like living creatures, You could do that contingency thing IMO, but you are already dead at 0 if you are "undead".

I think he knows that, it looks to me like he just wants the contengincy in place to teleport hois remains closer to his phylactery so that he will have easy access to his stuff once he refoms, and so that people have a harder time stealing his stuff.

I do not see a problem with a contingency like that, although there might be a technical rule loophole disallowing it in that once a creature is dead it is no longer a creature but an object... and teleport doesn't normally allow you to transport objects unless you acompany them.

You'd probably need to use a spell similar to Teleport Object or a variation of that spell that allows more than one object to be transported at a time, if you wanted your items to be whisked away upon your death.
