I thought it was instantaneous- so how can they stack if the duration of one casting ends instantly? I think you may mean the persisting damage... it does stack.

thanks, the reason I was asking was because I was thinking the next time I play Im gonna go with a warmage (complete arcane). Put Int as my primary stat with a follow up of cha. Take extra edge... yadda yadda yadda.

The idea is that with an Int of 16, and the Feat Extra Edge (suppliment with improved caster level feats) at 9th level... 2d4 (5 average damage) + 3 (int) + 1 (extra edge) + 2 (8th level warmage) for 11 damage over 4 rounds (the initial plus 3 extra. This is for a grand total of 44 damage from one 2nd level spell (no save). Of course latter you can boost even farther with bonus int items and stat increases from levels.

This means it does more damage than an orb (4th level spells). An orb would do 9d6 + 6 from the same warmage for a grand average of damage of 37.5

they stack.

I'd offer some support for my claim, but I'm busy celebrating my irish heritage. :pint:

Besides, I'm right. :P

The bonus damage from warmage edge will apply only on the initial damage dealt my acid arrow. Damage in subsequent rounds will not receive this bonus damage.

Generally I agree with you, but in this case I dont. Mostly because CA specifically states otherwise.

"If a spell deals damage for more than one round, it deals tis extra damage in each round."

Whoops...This is what I get for eschewing the "complete" series of splatbooks in favour of more FR specific splatbooks... :embarrass
