| Blindberzerker04-19-05, 08:49 AM | Greetings to all. I was posting and viewing some topics in the Combat and Equipment section and in particular the issues concerning weapon sizes. I would like to check an interesting information a member posted. We were discussing of ways and methods by which a character would avoid penalties when wielding a weapon one size category larger than him/her. The member in question suggested (wasn't either 100% sure) that there was a magical enchantement for weapons (+1 bonus it seems) that would grant the weapon with "balance" in order to avoid any penalties  As anyone one of you heard of such spell or equipment enhancement  Many thanks for your suggestions and information Blindberzerker...but always an eye open for good info :D |

Remember that there are only 3 reasons to use a larger weapon. 1) Increase the damage. +1 is fine for this purpose. 2) Your DM has house ruled it grants you some kind of reach/extra reach. Depending on how ludicrous your DM's house rule is +1 may be too cheap. For example, if he has house ruled a non-reach weapon (Say a Large Great Sword), grants reach to you, I would probably insist that +1 is too cheap, try +2. If he does not play around with reach, or is very conservative about it, +1 is a valid price. 3) Bragging/Role Playing (My weapon is so big, it wields me!!!) Again, +1 is fine for this purpose. |
