| Toptomcat04-05-04, 01:26 PM | I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for a while now, but this is the first time I've committed it to writing. I propose a variant for the Summon Monster spell- Summon Literary Character. Rather than summoning a creature straight out of the Player's Handbook, it would allow the character to summon characters or creatures straight out of a book (or movie:) the summons could range from 'flunky' types like the Stormtrooper or Red Shirt for SLC I to 'combat god' types like Neo or Superman for SLC 9. Any thoughts? |
| eru04-05-04, 01:29 PM | You would have to make up stats on the spot, and it would be very unbalancing (you already said they could summon "combat gods") |
| Toptomcat04-05-04, 01:42 PM | The stats would be pre-written and cleared with the GM, and the various summons balanced with the equivilant-level Summon Monster. IMHO, summoning Supes or Neo for 1 round/level for a 9th level spell would be reasonably balanced. |
