| NeueRegel06-16-07, 09:56 PM | Heyas friends. Okay, here's the sitiuation: I have a character that often rides a Nightmare into battle, fighting with lance, a reach weapon. He is human. Now, when a Nightmare is in melee, it constantly breathes forth billowing cones of smoke at the enemy, giving 20% concealment at 5', and 50% at 10'. And, while the Nightmare's vision is completely unaffected by it's own smoke, it stands to reason that, if the enemy can't see us, I equally can't see them, giving me the same miss chances. My question therefore, is, does anybody know of any magic that could give my character the vision to penetrate this smoke? A ring of x-ray vision doesn't seem to quite fit the bill, besides being insane overkill; True Seeing specifically states it doesn't penetrate normal fog; None of the lower level magic items seem to help any like "eyes" or "elixers" or anything. I'm sort of out of ideas. Spells as simple as 'obscuring mist' state that they even fool darkvision. What to do? Most of the time, I try to have my Nightmare attack one creature while I attack one to the left or right, but obviously, sometimes it's one big bad monster at a time that needs to be focused on.
