A weapon of distance has double the range increment of other weapons of its kind. Moderate divination; CL 6th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, clairaudience/clairvoyance; Price +1 bonus." "FAR SHOT [GENERAL] Prerequisite: Point Blank Shot. Benefit: When you use a projectile weapon, such as a bow, its range increment increases by one-half (multiply by 1-1/2). When you use a thrown weapon, its range increment is doubled. Special: A fighter may select Far Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats." "Range Increment: Any attack at less than this distance is not penalized for range. However, each full range increment imposes a cumulative -2 penalty on the attack roll. A thrown weapon has a maximum range of five range increments. A projectile weapon can shoot out to ten range increments." form D20 SRD~ |

It would appear from the wording that in both cases, only the length of the incremental units is adjusted...not the maximum range of the weapon. However, the definition of maximum range is not measured in units of distance, but rather is a specific number of range increments: five for melee weapons and ten for ranged weapons. So... Changing the length of a range increment also changes the maximum range. But this is a consequence of whatever mechanic changes the increment. |

(2) They stack, but use the normal rules for multiple multipliers. A distance bow used with Far Shot would have range increments 2.5 times (not 3 times) that of a normal bow. It would still max out at 10 increments. Since the bonuses come from different sources, I'd recommend #2. |
