| Sagittarius_Rex06-26-07, 09:13 PM | I am familiar with the avasculate spell (Libris Mortis: p. 62) that lets a caster (with a ranged touch) cause the target's veins and arteries to discharge through the skin. This leaves a pool of blood totally at odds with what I need. What I'm looking for is a spell that would drain off the target's blood (not just dry it up as with a spell that destroys water). The point is to give the suggestion that vampires are to blame; and send the party looking in the wrong direction (especially if there aren't any vampires close by to begin with!). The blood loss need not be immediate; say 1-2d6+2-4 hp/rnd would work just fine. That keeps the level low enough where a lower level villain could load up a few before they isolate and kill their target. Limited duration (timed, not concentration) would be good. Now if the spell also happens to give the caster half the damage in temporary hit points; so much the better. I'm not sure whether such a spell would be divine or arcane in origin. |

Blood Sirocco (WotC homepage, Far Corners of the World. http://boards1wizards.com/leaving.php?destination=http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw//20020720a ) requires arid terrain; but is otherwise acceptable. Summon Blood Elemental (WotC homepage, Spellbook. http://boards1wizards.com/leaving.php?destination=http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sb/sb20030208a ) would leave blood all over the place and is exactly the opposite of what I needed; but it's such a cool spell to add to my repertoire- I thank you anyway. It also introduced me to the composite spell list in this forumn. I think I'll either go low magic and have a room with stirges the villain throws them in and/or have a wand with fangs of the vampire king (Libris Mortis: p. 64) for the villain to use on him/herself |
