When a spell does Con Damage and they take a negative.

Say its a level 5 Fighter with a 18 Con he has a +4 Mod

He takes a -2 to his Con so does that mean he looses the 2 Con and 5 HP for the loss of his bonus HP through the levels? And if so does the oppasite apply if he gains Con ?

The fighter would lose 5 hp and 1 hp per level because of the -2 con.

If the fighter takes -2 con his modifier goes down by one and he loses 5 hp. If his con goes down by larger amounts he always loses hp equal to the decrease in con modifier times his hit dice. So this fighter would lose 15 hp if his con went down to 12 or 13.

It works the exact same way when your constitution increases. If his con increased to 20 he would gain 5 hp.

"It works the exact same way when your constitution increases. If his con increased to 20 he would gain 5 hp"

He would gain only 5 due to modifier ? and none due to his level ? so the loss in level hp is only due to loss, and not at a con gain ?

Let's say Bob is a 5th level fighter. :fight!: He has 18 Constitution and 45 HP.

But oh no, a Wraith appears! :emp: The Wraith attacks Bob and con drained him down to 14 Constitution. He is now at 35 HP. :help:

But Bob finds a Amulet of Constitution +6 in the Wraith's treasure stash. His Constitution goes up to 20 and he now has 50 HP.:w00t:
