Abjurant Champion adds up to +5AC to any abjuration spell that grants an armor bonus to AC, but the only one I could find was ectoplasmic armor, and that spell only works against incorporeal opponents.

The shield spell 1st level sorcerer/wizard PHB.

That's a shield bonus, I'm looking for an armor bonus.

In PHB, Shield is the only spell (go Wizards for thinking really hard about the Abjurant Champion). Other suggestions have been made, though. For example, if you're a wizard, you could reasearch a spell like Mage Armor, but for the Abjuration school. Additionally, if you have access to The Book of Exalted Deeds, there's a spell (I think it's called Luminous Armor) that should work.

Luminous Armor and Greater Luminous Armor in Book of Exalted Deeds.

Keep in mind, barring a LOT of effort, you can't cast these if you're a sorcerer.

Also, Shield is NOT the only abjuration spell that provides a shield bonus, though it is the only PHB spell. Coat of Arms, I believe, also provides a shield bonus, and a eventually a higher one then Shield at that.

Greater Mage Armor starts off at +6AC, Spell Compendium I believe.

yes, but like mage armor, its conjuration.

Its too bad whoever created the abjurant champion didnt realise that, because its fairly clear that they intended the class feature to work with mage armor.
