A few, make that a ton of, questions on AC. I think I have the non-touch AC stuff down. Please read and tell me if I am correct. This is all in a 3.0 setting.

A magical plus on your worn armor DOES NOT stack with the plus on your Bracers of Armor because they are both "Armor Enhancements", right?

A magical plus on your worn armor DOES stack with the plus on your Ring of Protection because the ring has a "Deflection Enhancement", right?

A plus on your Bracers of Armor DOES stack with the plus on your Ring of Protection because one is "Armor Enhancement" and one is "Deflection Enhancement", right?

A non-magical Breastplate (breastplates are +5 armor bonus), and Bracers of Armor +2 give you an AC of 17, right?

Then, what about the touch attack AC? Not ghosts n such.

For Touch AC it always includes dex modifier, unless flatfooted, right?

The magical plus on your armor is not included in Touch AC, right?

The plus on your Bracers of Armor are included in Touch AC,right?

The plus on a Ring of Protection is included in Touch AC, right?

Does the Ring of protection stack with the Bracers for Touch AC?

Then comes vs. the ghosties.

The magical plus on your ring of protection and the bracers of amor both are included against ghosts right?

The magical plus on your armor is not included against ghost touches right?

I think that covers every possibility. Thanks for spending the time reading and replying.

Let's use the correct terminology.

Bracers of Armor provide an Armor Bonus to your AC.

A "plus" on your armor provides an Enhancement bonus to the Armor Bonus of your armor.

So the Armor Bonus of the Bracers does not stack with the Armor Bonus of your worn armor (which includes the Enhancement Bonus of the 'plus').

A magical plus on your worn armor DOES stack with the plus on your Ring of Protection because the ring has a "Deflection Enhancement", right?

The ring provides a Deflection Bonus, which stacks with the Armor bonus of your armor (which includes the Enhancement bonus of the 'plus').

A plus on your Bracers of Armor DOES stack with the plus on your Ring of Protection because one is "Armor Enhancement" and one is "Deflection Enhancement", right?

Armor Bonus and Deflection bonus, but yes, they stack.

A non-magical Breastplate (breastplates are +5 armor bonus), and Bracers of Armor +2 give you an AC of 17, right?

No. Breastplate gives a +5 Armor Bonus, and the Bracers give a +2 Armor Bonus. Same bonus type, so they don't stack.

For Touch AC it always includes dex modifier, unless flatfooted, right?

True.

The magical plus on your armor is not included in Touch AC, right?

Since the 'plus' increases the Armor Bonus of your armor, and Touch AC does not include Armor Bonus, you're correct.

The plus on your Bracers of Armor are included in Touch AC,right?

No. It's an Armor Bonus.

The plus on a Ring of Protection is included in Touch AC, right?

Deflection Bonuses are included in Touch AC, yes.

Does the Ring of protection stack with the Bracers for Touch AC?

Deflection Bonuses stack with Armor Bonuses... but Armor Bonuses are not included in your Touch AC.

The magical plus on your ring of protection and the bracers of amor both are included against ghosts right?

There is debate as to whether Bracers provides a bonus against incorporeal touch attacks, but most agree that they do.

So yes, they'll stack.

The magical plus on your armor is not included against ghost touches right?

That's right.

I have not heard anyone at all claim that Bracers/Mage Armor does not protect against incorporeal touch attacks.

Otherwise I agree with your response.

From memory, the argument was that Bracers of Armor states "just as though he were wearing armor", and doesn't include the note that it does give a bonus against incorporeal touch attacks (as, for example, the Mage Armor spell does).

The other side of the argument, obviously, is that an "intangible field of force" means "Force effect", which by its nature protects against incorporeal touch attacks.

Like I say, most agree they do.

Heh... One wonders whether this is just yet one more step for WotC to think they ought to "clarify things" by giving us 3.75 within three years...

Thanks for answering all my questions. It all makes sense except...

I thought I read other posts saying that your normal non-magical armor (leather, chain plate etc) does stack with Bracers of Armor.

Or if you have chainmail +2 and bracers +3, you get the bracers' +3 and the chainmail's normal +5 to combine for 18 AC.

If you did, those posts were in error.

It's entirely possible that you did.

People post plenty of incorrect information around here :)
