Im a cleric/knight wearing a full plate. I consider take a few levels as a wizard/sorcerer but have problems with the spell falure.

Is there anyway around this - a prestige class, a feat or something.

What about a magic item, I have both Create Wonderous Item and Create Magic Arms and Armor. What will the aprobiate "+" be, in regarde to enchanting the armor.

Well, there is differnt ways to do it, the only core way to do it, is to apply the metamagic feat Still Spell to all your spells, the PRC Spellsword from Complete Warrior has class abilities that reduce Arcane Spell Failure, (ASF), and at some level the Geomancer class from Complete Divine, allows the use of any armor and being able to cast arcane spells. Mithrall Bucklers have no ASF if recall correctly, and The Book of Exalte Deeds has a magical property that reduces ASF, (I can't remember the name of the property), finally the Arms, Armor and Equipment book has a special material that greatly reduces ASF. Remember that you need Armor Proficiencies. I hope this helps.

So far I found:
Still Spell: totally negates spell failure at the cost of higher spell slots
Spellsword (Complete Warrior PrC): you would need a lot of this prestige class to totally negate the armor spell failure.
Geomancer (Complete Divine PrC): a couple of levels in this prestige class will do you a lot of good. The spell versatility ability enables you to cast your wizo spells as if you were a cleric (casting spells in armor, using your wisdom instead of int to determine DC of spells and so on).

If you don't mind growing a scorpion tail or a cat nose or any other strange physical traits, I'd go for the Geomancer. It probably would be the best, especially since you would continue gaining levels in either cleric or wizo spells.

Concerning your armors and weapons:
I'd say an enhancement bonus as high as you can (i.e. +1/3 caster levels) and the rest is just a matter of flavore. Defending weapons are great on spell caster imo. While you're buffing up, you can use your weapon's enhancement bonus to attack and damage as an enhancement bonus to AC that stacks with everything else. And the best is that defending weapons are only +1 to determine the price (which is fairly cheap imo).
Note also that if you take wizo levels, cleric and wizo levels don't stack when it comes to determining caster level, that also applies to item creation feats.

The Book of Exalte Deeds has a magical property that reduces ASF
It's called Twilight and is a +1 adjustment and drops ASF by 10%. Not good enough for a full plate though.

Twilight mithral full plate armor has an arcane spell failure chance of 15%. Add in a single level of Spellsword (+1 caster level and -10% spell failure) and you're at 5%. That's more than acceptable.

Thx

I also think the Stillspell option is good, if my GM allows it.

Caster level is ok iam now 12 CL clerik

Where do I finde the complete Divine/fighter Prc collection ??

Edit:
There is no way on Eledys;) I will have a Mithiral armor. 1. Mithiral is rare very rare 2. only Dwarf are mining mithrial (maybee orcs do aswell, but I don't speak with them) and these dwarfs are more obnocios (sorry for spelling) than high elves ever will be.

Is blended quartz available to you?

A blended quartz +1 twilight full plate has ASF chance of 5%. With a spellsword level it drops to 0%.
the only drawback is the double weight

Arcane MAgic + Armor = The best reasoning for the use of Still Spell :)

The Spell Sword Prestige Class is also a good avenue for you.

I like keeping things core... fewer nonsense mishaps/balance issues tend to occur, rather than leaching from all of the new supliments. Sure, the core material has enough problems on its own... but Still Spell and arguabely the Spell Sword are not included in the list of problems.

Have fun!

If you're a dwarf, which I'm guessing your not, you could take the Runesmith PrC from the Races of Stone. As part of their spell preparation, they carve runes into metal plates, which replaces the somatic components of their spells. As a result, they can cast in full plate without chance of spell failure. Just make sure you dont lose your runes...
