Is an acid fog considered magical once it has been cast? This came up in reference to an antimagic field and whether the acid fog would spread into the field area. It was targeted outside of the field, but the 20' radius would spread into it.

Our DM ruled that it was magical, regardless of it not being subject to spell resistance, and thus it did not exist in the anti magic field.

What does everyone else think?

Acid fog is a Conjuration(Creation) effect so by the rules only the initial casting is magic. The fog it conjures is nonmagical.

But imo thats silly (especially when you consider the Orb spells. Unmagical force....).

conjuration (creation) with a duration of instant are the only spells not affected in such a manner, since acid fog has a duration it is affected as normal by antimagic field
