Example 1 You fighter friend is dominated by a wizard and attacks you. You manage to charm him and make him believe, you are his friend again. Or, he is dominated but you are not considered like an ennemi. > Now you use polymorph "plant" on him. What happen? Does the charm and the domination still continue to work? NB : with the 3.5 rule, you gain mind effect immunity when you polymorph into a plant. The point here is to find an 100% success spell to free your friend and prevent further domination, while buffing him to get his vengeance ;). If domination still works, it could be an easy way to be sure your puppet wont be turned against you by someone else. (control plant is so rare!) Example 2 : If you are really high level, you could try Mind Blank as well, but since the duration is 24h, most of the time, it is already casted and not available in your spell list ;) ______________ I have looked into psionic powers as well, and no psionic power allow the control of plants. Is it a good way to finally have a chance to beat a mind flayer? |

So if the Fighter gets Dominated on round 1 and you Charm him on round 2 but he is still Dominated. You could then ask him to voluntarily fail his save to be turned into a plant on round 3 and then be immune to the Dominate effect (and your Charm). Hopefully the controller of the Fighter doesn't make the Fighter do anything to prompt another save throw vs. the Charm spell like attacking the Fighter, since he perceives you and the controller as allies. He would probably not attack you, although a Dominated monster doesn't really have a choice and might attack you even though you have him charmed. This is a tough one. Path |
