Is there any way to add Shadow to regular illusions without being a Shadowcraft Mage?

A metamagic feat perhaps?

Do you have any idea how powerful that capability actually is? The Shadowcraft Mage didn't earn the title "Killer Gnome" from the CO boards for nothing!

It's ludicrously strong as an ability of a racially-limited, cross-class-skilling, Spell-Focus-requiring PrC that shows up at level 10.

By the way, adding shadow to regular illusions doesn't make them real. It just turns the figments into Shadow Conjuration/Evocation spells, which mimic other spells. There's a difference.

Yes, I do...
I don't have races of stone... but looking at the shadowcraft mage handbook on the boards...
and I believed that was the case.

I was working on a villain that had illusory humanoid guards (say 20% real) without having to resort to using Shadow Conjuration summoned creatures, which would be the creatures on the summoning lists plus they don't last forever.
Fetches are useless for combat and Simulacrums are expensive and 100% real.

Yes, I could always change the summoning lists but then the PCs would get to summon humanoids.

Oh well... back to the drawing board...

Oh well... back to the drawing board...Two spells in Races of Destiny do just that. The lower-level ones use figments, the higher-level equivalent uses shadows. The whole point is to make a place look guarded.
