...as the title suggests, i am in need of some suggestions for a 1st lvl Sorc/Wiz illusion or enchantment spell for my 3rd lvl beguiler.

currently looking at "serene visage" -provides an insight bonus to bluff

"inhibit" -makes affected creature delay action

and "incite" -makes creature unable to delay, must act on normal initiative.

so...

any other suggestions?

(he's a Gnomish Beguiler 3 (int 18) with Least Mark of Scribing [2/day arcane mark], and Spell Focus Enchantment [just acquired])

thanks, all

Still trying to figure that out myself. I converted an old character over to a Beguiler. Still wondering what the best spells would be. Not sure about the low level ones, wondering if the Shadow Evocation or Conjuration spells are worth taking.

how much of a bonus to bluff does that spell give and whats its duration
also, if your party has a blaster, then dont bother with the shadow spells

Not RAW, but you could ask your DM to get Confusion, Lesser (off the Bard's spell list). If not, then Sleep (if you don't have it) or Charm Person. Battle Enchantments are no good this early on.

the insight bonus to bluff is 1/2 caster lvl

so, it'll come in right handy later on

i already have all the 1st lvl illus. and enchant. spells from the PHB, so that's pretty much where i stand

also: the 3rd lv spell i get (or is it 4th) will be phantasmal killer

keep the ideas coming, people...
