Has anyone ever seen/read any errata or clarification about whether or not a creature using the air walk spell can also Hustle, Run (x3), and Run (x4)? The spell description claims that the creature can "literally walk on air," but I don't know if that's supposed to suggest that the creature is limited to Walk speed in tactical movement or not. It's not clear.

Thanks,

Thomas

I don't know. I believe he can run, because the spell description says he can walk as if walking on solid ground. In the description of Fly spell, for example, they mention that the caster can't run (though he can charge). In the Air walk spell description, they don't mention any limitation like that.
I didn't check the errata, though.

I believe he can runCorrect. The subject is not restricted to walking speeds.

Correct. The subject is not restricted to walking speeds.
Can you substantiate that viewpoint with something? Did you read that somewhere or have some other evidence that it's an official clarification, or can you point me to something that demonstrates why that's the right interpretation?

Thanks,

Can you substantiate that viewpoint with something?Ok:
1) Spell names are not intended to be taken literally.
2) The spell's description says: "The maximum upward or downward angle possible is 45 degrees, at a rate equal to one-half the air walker’s normal speed." This implies that the subjects normal speed is indeed used (note that normal speed is faster than a walking pace)
3) The can allow you to ride a mount in the air. In combat, a mount typically doesn't use a walking pace (and besides, the mount's walking pace is likely faster than a human's jogging pace anyway)
4) The spell description saying "The subject can tread on air as if walking on solid ground. " in context does not appear to be intended to limit your speed to walking.
5) Limiting your speed to walking would be lame (literally), unintuitive, and would defeat the purpose of the spell.
6) You are the first person I've encountered that had this question (everyone I've played with used normal speed).
7) The Rules of the Game say:
"The air walk spell doesn't allow true flight, but it does enable the subject to literally walk on air. An air walker's movement is hampered if the character walks up or down through the air. The air walker's movement isn't hampered if the air walker gains or loses only 5 feet of altitude."
8) If movement was actually limited to walking speed, it would be clearly and unambiguously noted somewhere.

Everything you argued makes good sense, and I agree with you. But I am specifically looking for a reference to something official, ie, appearing here as a post from one of the WotC folks, on the website in the Pages from the Mages column, in an errata page, etc. No offense to you or your logic (as I said, I agree with all the points), but that's what I am hunting.

Thanks,

I am specifically looking for a reference to something official"The air walker's movement isn't hampered" from the RotG seemed suitable, but try here (http://wizards.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wizards.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php?)
