Now, two spells caught my eye.

If you take a look at Algid Enhancement (Cleric/Druid 6) it states something along the lines of +x deflection bonus, 1d8+x temporary hit points, +x to attack rolls,+x+1 on saves vs fire spells. This requires 1 ounce of coldfire per casting, questions on same below.

In this case X is caster level/3 + 1. The drawback is that the spell can only be cast on creatures with the cold subtype, so its almost worthless one would think, 24 hour duration too!

Then if you see Mantle of the Icy Soul (cleric6/druid5) it basically allows you to permanently grant creature touched the cold subtype which grants immunity cold and vulnerability fire, but cannot be reversed except via wish/miracle, and has a 2k exp cost.

So, if I am reading this correct you could essentially make yourself a cold creature and be real real careful with fire and then you could give yourself a monster buff daily.

As to the questions.

1st-What is coldfire? Where is more information on it found? Are there any major limitations to it? Book says nothing but that it costs 50gp to purchase and implies that it can be made.

2nd-The buff spell states enhancement bonus to attack, I am a bit hazy on how stacking would work in this circumstance. If you had a +2 weapon, but had this spell cast at say an 11th level caster (+4), how would the bonuses work? Would you have a +6 to hit, +2 to damage? Or a +4 to hit/+2 to damage? or a +4 to both?

1) I believe Cold fire is an alchemical thing. I believe it does 1d6 of cold damage. Not sure where it came from, it should be explained again in the book. For this purpose, just treat it like any other material component.

2) Enhancement bonuses do not stack. Weapon enchantments are Enhancment bonuses. +2 weapon and a +4 from this spell = +4, not +6. So you would get +4 to hit, +2 to damage.

Good spell combo for a VoP Cleric?

Good for just about any cleric IMO.

Its an easy thing to do for massive benefit. Take the minimum needed to cast the combo of Algid/Icy Mantle

It costs you 2k exp and a 6th level slot a day. Assuming you have prayer beads to cast at beginning of day it would be cl15 buff.

That gives you a +6 to attack rolls, +7 vs. fire, 1d8+5 hitpoints, +6 deflection bonus.

The drawback is that you need to permanently make yourself a cold subtype which makes you vulnerable to fire, that just means you keep energy resistance around, or contingent energy resistance (draconomicon), or a ring of energy resistance. The only other issue is that Algids requires a vial of coldfire as a component, which could/could not be rare.

Good deal IMO.

Still suprised more people haven't spotted this spell combo, seems quite powerful if you can afford the 6th level spell slot.
