| Salla06-05-07, 04:16 PM | Assuming base PHB rules for such: A good wizard/cleric can cast an Evil wizard spell, but not an evil Cleric spell. This is because the Evil wizard spell comes out of his spellbook, but the evil Cleric spell would come from his deity or power of choice, which simply wouldn't grant him that spell. Casting that evil wizard spell may (or may not) constitute a violation of cleric ethos, however, and may not be a good idea. |
| Thiez06-05-07, 04:17 PM | 1) Yes 2) Yes, as long as he casts the spell as a wizard, not a cleric (He can cast an evil spell prepared in his wizard spellslots, but not one from his cleric spellslots). Note that casting an [Evil] spell is an evil act according to the BoVD, and as such may affect your alignment and cause your cleric to lose contact with his deity. There has been some discussion about the reliability of the BoVD. Ask your DM how he rules on this subject. Your mileage may vary. |
| SALDAR06-05-07, 08:21 PM | Can a good wizard cast a spell with the Evil descriptor? Yes. and if he is also a cleric? Under the Class Features section of Multiclass Characters it states: "A multiclass character gets all the class features of all his or her classes but must also suffer the consequences of the special restrictions of all his or her classes. (Exception: A character who acquires the barbarian class does not become illiterate.)" Spell alignment is a special restriction of the cleric class and would also apply to his wizard spells. |
