Hello everyone!

I just recently gained the ability to cast Scrying once per day via the Lesser Dragonmark Feat in the Eberron Campaign Setting. My first random question would be: Is it arcane? Divine magic? What level would it be?

I assume it would be 4th level sorcerer-Wizard...

If it matters, my character is a 9th level Shaper (Psion)

Secondly, this is my first time using scrying, and the rules have changed quite a bit with the new edition. After having read the errata...

Spell Description:
Scrying
Divination (Scrying)
Level: Brd 3, Clr 5, Drd 4, Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S, M/DF, F
Casting Time: 1 hour
Range: See text
Effect Magical sensor
Duration: 1 min./level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
You can see and hear some creature, which may be at any distance. If the subject succeeds on a Will save, the scrying attempt simply fails. The difficulty of the save depends on how well you know the subject and what sort of physical connection (if any) you have to that creature. Furthermore, if the subject is on another plane, it gets a +5 bonus on its Will save.
Knowledge Will Save Modifier
None1 +10
Secondhand (you have heard of the subject) +5
Firsthand (you have met the subject) +0
Familiar (you know the subject well) –5
1 You must have some sort of connection to a creature you have no knowledge of.
Connection Will Save Modifier
Likeness or picture –2
Possession or garment –4
Body part, lock of hair, bit of nail, etc. –10
If the save fails, you can see and hear the subject and the subject’s immediate surroundings (approximately 10 feet in all directions of the subject). If the subject moves, the sensor follows at a speed of up to 150 feet.
As with all divination (scrying) spells, the sensor has your full visual acuity, including any magical effects. In addition, the following spells have a 5% chance per caster level of operating through the sensor: detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, detect law, detect magic, and message.
If the save succeeds, you can’t attempt to scry on that subject again for at least 24 hours.
Arcane Material Component: The eye of a hawk, an eagle, or a roc, plus nitric acid, copper, and zinc.
Wizard, Sorcerer, or Bard Focus: A mirror of finely wrought and highly polished silver costing not less than 1,000 gp. The mirror must be at least 2 feet by 4 feet.
Cleric Focus: A holy water font costing not less than 100 gp.
Druid Focus: A natural pool of water.

Errata
Scrying
Player's Handbook, page 274
Descriptive text contradicts itself on whether the spell
allows hearing as well as vision.
Change “If the save fails, you can see (but not hear)”
to
“If the save fails, you can see and hear”

(Sorry about the formatting, I copied from the SRD)

If I understand correctly, I create a magical (invisible?) sensor near someone, that can move up to 150 ft per round. I can look around about 10 feet in all directions and I can see through it as well as I could myself, including with magical or psionic enhancements.

If he fails his saving throw, I can see and hear normally, and if he succeeds I can only see.

The save DC gets bonuses and minuses circumstancially, depending on certain things...

Am I missing anything? Is there anything we should know about scrying? Tips and tricks for my DM and myself?

Thanks!

Edit: If he succeeds or fails his saving throw, does he feel a disturbance in his every day life? As in, if he has to make a save, does he feel someone messing around with whats going on around him? Does he feel someone watching him, etc?

How big is the sensor? Can others other than him see it? Can it be destroyed, aside from being dispelled? If someone flashes a bright light at it, would I be temporarily blinded? :P

Yes, but the sensor follows the subject at 150' per round. You can't command the sensor to fly around.

If he fails you can see and hear, if he succeeds the spell fails.

If he succeeds his saving throw he will know he just had to make a will save (and that he succeeded it) but he won't have any idea what caused it.

Sorry I couldn't answer all your questions but this is all I know for sure.

My first random question would be: Is it arcane? Divine magic? What level would it be?

It's a spell-like ability, which means that it doesn't have an arcane or divine designation. Spell-like and supernatural abilities simply "are." As to the level, use the sorcerer/wizard version. If you look under the Spell-like abilities description, it lists the hierarchy of spell versions. If I remember correctly (can't access the SRD at work), you use the:

Sor/Wiz
Clr
Drd
Brd
Pal
Rgr

version. That is, if the spell is "Sor/Wiz 5, Brd 4," you use the Sor/Wiz version, but if it's "Brd 3, Rgr 4," you use the Brd version.
