Alter Self and undead... [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-20-05, 04:02 PM Is this spell any good for using on undead? I am thinking of a Necropolitan wizard with the Precocious Ap. feat, or using it on an undead mount.
The thing is, I couldnt Alter Self anything into a Zombi-not even another Zombi, as the Zombi is a templated creature.
The Rules of the Game indicate otherwise, maybe, but that is another can of worms.
I guess I am asking if there are any "KILLER" forms, as in super high Natural Armor,a jazilion natrual weapons, large size, reach, awesome extraordinary abilities...
I have checked the Srd some but most undead there have better than 5 HD, so am interested in none core stuff...

Btw, I cant think of why you would , but why couldnt you take the form of a Shadowor somthin, but just not get any Incorporeal bennifits?

You acquire the physical qualities of the new form while retaining your own mind. Physical qualities include natural size, mundane movement capabilities (such as burrowing, climbing, walking, swimming, and flight with wings, to a maximum speed of 120 feet for flying or 60 feet for nonflying movement), natural armor bonus, natural weapons (such as claws, bite, and so on), racial skill bonuses, racial bonus feats, and any gross physical qualities (presence or absence of wings, number of extremities, and so forth).
For undead, the Vampire Spawn stands out. You gain Alertness, Improved Initiative, and Lightning Reflexes as bonus feats, +4 racial bonus on Bluff, Hide, Listen, Move Silently, Search, Sense Motive, and Spot checks, +3 natural AC, and a slam attack. The ghast will get you +4 natural AC and three natural attacks. The related lacedon (aquatic ghouls) give you Swim 30.

In MM3, the vasuthant will get you Fly 30 (perfect), +3 AC, a slam, and Improved Grapple.

Even without that those where my choices, but with it the Vampire Spawn rules!
Vasuthant huh? Thats what Im looking for,enough for me to canvass my crew for some one with that book.

-Skin kite:Flight
-Raiment: Camoflage(Who notices a pile of dirty clothes?)
-Skulking Cyst:+4 nat armor,+8 hide and move silently,30ft climb, 30 ft. swim,ugh!
Btw way , I am confused:in the Hypertext Srd, the racial bonus feats marked with the special B, but is that a "universal" convention?

Then, Look for the section: READING THE ENTRIES

You'll find the following: Feats
Sometimes a creature has one or more bonus feats, marked with a superscript B (B). Also, the same line can be found in the beginning of the 3.5 MM.
