I'm playing an Elf Ultimate mage. I need a good humanoid that I can turn into. I would like a combination of decent natural armor and wings for flying. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You'll need to search the thread yourself, but this thread covers pretty much every form worth taking.

Elf to Troglodyte (best for combat) -2 to listen, search and spot no more free search check on concealed doors lose racial WP of longsword, rapier, shortbow and longbow +6 natural armor +4 hide (change to +8 in rocky or underground terrain) 1d4/1d4 claws as primary weapon, and 1d4 bite as secondary weapon gain Multiattack feat (so you can do a full attack, followed up with a bite at -2 your full attack bonus) Arguably (though not officially) gain WP club and javelin
Elf to Lizardman (best for athletics) -2 to listen, search and spot no more free search check on concealed doors lose racial WP of longsword, rapier, shortbow and longbow +5 natural armor +4 balance, jump, swim 1d4/1d4 claws as primary weapon, and 1d4 bite as secondary weapon (so you can do a full attack, followed up with a bite at -5 your full attack bonus) gain WP in all simple weapons and shield proficiency
Elf to Forest Gnome (best for alchemy, and good for hiding) -2 to search and spot no more free search check on concealed doors lose racial WP of longsword, rapier, shortbow and longbow Small size. +1 bonus to Armor Class, +1 bonus on attack rolls, +4 bonus on Hide checks, -4 penalty on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits ¾ those of Medium characters. speed drops by 10 feet (base 20) +2 on Craft(alchemy) checks +4 hide (+8 in woods)... this stacks with the +4 from small size
Elf to Aquatic Elf (basic aquatic ability) gain swim speed 40'
Elf to Locathah (advanced aquatic ability) -2 to listen, search and spot no more free search check on concealed doors lose racial WP of longsword, rapier, shortbow and longbow land speed 10', swim speed 60' +3 natural armor +8 swim checks, and can always take 10, and can run in a straight line unofficially (arguably) gain WP in longspears and light crossbows

As for your familiar (remember Shared Spells?), that's a complicate ball of wax, and dependent on your DM.

- Some DMs say it's a magical beast, as per the familiar listing. Thus it can only turn into magical beasts of appropriate size.

- Some DMs (like mine) say it's an animal with a template or class abilities. Thus it can only turn into animals of appropriate size, then the resulting animal is modified by the "Familiar-ization". In essence you're using Alter Self to turn a mage with a familiar into a different mage with a different familiar.

- Some DMs say that the Share Spells note of "ignore difference in type - treat as master's type" is dominant, so Alter Self turns the familiar into a humanoid of appropriate size.

Talk to your DM.

So nothing that will grant flying and natural armor at the same time without being an outsider? Bummer. Thanks

It depends what world you're in.

In Faerun (where my Elven Sorcerer is), there are Aaroka (sp?) bird-men, which can fly, as well as winged elves. There's also some desert reptillian humanoids with a burrow speed.

I suggest you look into what humanoids are in your setting.

We are playing a "planes" campaign. We started out in the city of Union. So no real setting other then that.
