| RJstinger11-03-05, 10:34 AM | My question is this, If you are nonhuman and you use Alter Self(which grants you any racial feats) to change into a human(which has one racial bonus feat), do you then get any feat that you qualify for the duration of the spell? This has probably already been thought of but I was thinking of using Persistant Alter Self to gain the use of any one item creation feat. Any thoughts? |

The human's bonus feat is a reflection of that race's ability to adapt and learn. In short, Alter Self grants physical race-related feats and the human bonus feat is mental. |

Racial feats are not divided into "physical" and "mental", they are just racial. There is nothing in RAW that would support that. When you change into any form that has a racial feat, those feats(and most feats in general) are almost always cognitive in nature. Are there any references that support your statement? Otherwise its just how you'ld "houserule" it. |

Well, the Sage has recently clarified that if a humn polymorphs into a non-human form he loses the human bonus feat (and skills), so presumably the reverse applies. It's horribly messy though, and I doubt I shall be playing it that way. |
