Alternate Monster Summoning... [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-24-04, 04:36 PM Where would I find info about monsters a wizard might be able to summon other than those listed in the PHB? My current character is in need of a tunnel, and he thinks that a purple worm might fit the bill. Could he summon one with, say, a MS VII? Are there any official rules out there to adjudicate this?

05-24-04, 05:00 PM Do a search of the Spells and Magic Items Board using the word "summon" and you will find this same question asked and answered over a dozen times in the past few months.

That should get you started.

05-25-04, 04:30 AM Hmmm, oddly enough I tried to do just that this afternoon before I posted, but the search function for these boards is so amazingly slow! And I have a cable modem! So I just decided to post the question nd see what turned up.

However, it is now 1:00am and board traffic must be light enough that the search can do it's biz, for I was just now able to learn that your right, this question has been flogged pretty hard, and I was able to find a subtible answer to it.

So anyway, thanks for the response, and sorry for asking a question that's been done to death.

05-25-04, 09:02 AM No apology needed. My initial assumption on most "repeat" questions is that someone forgot about the search function; it is quite discrete in location and relatively cumbersome in its use.

WizOs... time to schedule a purge?
