| Phrennzy07-05-04, 07:43 PM | I have a wizard player who would like to modify the dimensions of current spells. I'd like to get some feedback on what to allow. Burning hands: Into a ray spell (short range). One target. I was thinking of upping the damage to 1d4+1 per level. Color spray: A burst spell with a radius of 10'. Same effects as current. Ray of Enfeeblement, Fireball, Cone of Cold: Touch attack. I was thinking of upping the damage on the latter two by +1 per die. He plays a sorceror and took improved unarmed fighting, and so everyone thinks he's a monk. He's been using shocking grasp & chill touch, but wants to branch out. What d'ya think? |

| Egres07-05-04, 08:14 PM | Errrr..... I have a wizard player He plays a sorceror  ?? ?? |
| Phrennzy07-05-04, 11:07 PM | FOr purposes of the spell, wizard & sorceror are the same. Haven't changed a thing yet. Saving throws are still there. |
| Egres07-06-04, 05:37 AM | :D Is he a Wizard or a Sorcerer?:D However,i can't see any problems. Give them to him. |
| Emir07-06-04, 07:36 AM | I wouldn't give the Fireball/Cone of Cold to be a ray :\ The Fireball ray is called Sorching Ray The Cone of Cold ray is called Polar Ray Plus, no ray requires a Reflex save, and just giving the Fireball as a ray with a save makes no sense. PS - If I missed the point above, maybe I didn't miss it now. The look the of the spell can be changed by the caster always. For example, he can make the Cone of Cold come out of his mouth, so it looks like a breath weapon and similar. |
| Egres07-06-04, 11:16 AM | Only 2 things: 1-Phrennzy talked about Touch attacks, not ranged touch attacks. 2-No one talked about Reflex saves:change them to Fortitude, and all will be ok. |
| tarkin07-06-04, 11:25 AM | There is a feat called Shape Spell, that he/you might be interested in. +1 level |
| Phrennzy07-06-04, 11:32 AM | Re: Shape Spell - where is info on that located? |
| Egres07-06-04, 11:58 AM | In Tome and blood. Don't know if WotC reprinted it. |
