For those unfamilliar with what I am talking about, Arcana Evolved casters all cast like sorcs and prepare like wizards, they can know as many spells as they want, and they can sponaneously cast the spells that they prepare. Would the system presented in Arcana Evolved need tweaking to import to D&D, or could I just import it without any changes? How would I need to change it for a full caster class? A half caster class? Thanks! |

If you wanted an arcanist who can do this I would suggest it look something like this: Zab can cast Magic Missle, Mage Armor, Shield, or True Strike (they are in his spell book). He may only prepare 2 1st level spells for today (don't prepare the same one twice) He prepares Magic Missle for offense and Mage Armor for defense. He has 3 spells per day. So he can cast 3 Magic Missles, or he can cast Mage Armor 3 times, 2 M.M.s and 1 M.A. or 2 M.A. and 1 M.M. For more ideas on this type of mechanic pick up the Complete Divine and look at the Spirit Shaman base class. Good gaming. |
