Alternate Summon List [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-23-07, 02:40 PM Is there an entry somewhere regarding extra summon monster choices? or more summon spells or general? Or maybe a feat to expand one's selection?

05-23-07, 02:54 PM Why would you want to expand some of the most broken spells in the game?????????????????? And there are no expanded lists outside of what your DM wishes to allow that I know of - unless granted from a PrC, the lists are static.

Actualy, i consider summon spells underpowered to the point of useless. usualy, they allow you to summon one creature with CR 1/2 your level, 2 creatures at cr 1/3 your level, or 3-4 creatures at CR 1/5 your level. these then get toasted and eaten before doing anything useful (if they even could), and the caster in question now has the undivided attention of the BBEG.

you could always ask people to P.E.A.C.H. a few.

05-23-07, 07:55 PM not new lists really, but in frostburn you can summon frost creatures, sand creatures in another book (i forget :P)
also there are a few summon spells that cost xp but are worth it if you can afford them (example: summon zekelhut 100xp and the summon is a CR9 for a 3rd lvl spell)

you could always ask people to P.E.A.C.H. a few. and at low levels it invalidates a fighter for some fights, at mid levels it can be spammed with wands, and at high levels it replaces a fighter. :bored:
