| Arravis05-26-06, 01:11 PM | Over the years I've seen Alternate Summon Monster lists here and there. Does anyone know where some of these may be found, if anyone has compiled a list, or where I could find some guidelines for making my own alternate Summon Monster list? Thanks guys! |
| Seeker9505-26-06, 01:55 PM | Over the years, I've never seen an alternate list. I've seen plenty of folks ask if there is one, and seen plenty of folks say that they will just have to make their own. But those folks never seem to post them here. The closest I've seen is folks asking if Monster X is a good substitute for Monster Y. |

The problem I'm having is that in my home-brew campaign there are no mammals (other than humans, who are an outsider race), birds, or sea-creatures. Basicly reptiles, insects, and plants only. So that means most of the creatures in the Summon Monster lists I can't use. |

Replace a creature with one that is similarly powerful and fulfills the same role, or equally important role. If you replace monsters and take lots of big bruisers on your list it weakens the spells versatility. |
