| technodemon09-18-04, 03:21 PM | I was wandering has Wizards have written any rules or text about alternate/variant spellbooks for wizards? I know other D20 3rd patry publishers have done it but I want know if Wizards has written anything about it? |
| Gadodel09-18-04, 04:28 PM | I don't understand your question... |
| Lord Nat09-18-04, 04:34 PM | I think he means spell books with powers and such... Like my Book of Flaming Blast +5 (Looking back on that I now know that was a bad idea) I think. |
| Dracoulis The Phyrexian09-18-04, 04:41 PM | Are you meaning something different than a spellbook to put your spells in? If so, the Eberron setting has something exactly like that. I think they're called spellshards (though I could be wrong). They function essentially identically to spellbooks (although page count is different), but instead of being a book, they're a crystal (well, dragonshard, but hey). Looks cooler, at least. And, yes, there is a Blessed Book equivalent of it, too. Other than that... Well, as long as the rules are about the same (around the same weight/size, around the same page count, and identical cost for new spells), I'd allow someone to store spells in nearly anything. You want it on a collection of sticks? Sure. Set of dice, with each die having a spell? Whatever. Tattoed on your on flesh? Messy, but creative. Of course, this is just a house rule. |
