Sorry if this had been answered, search function and all.

When a creature uses alterself to turn into something bigger or smaller than its normal form, what happens to:
1.) Its equipment
2.) Size modifiers to skills (ex:Hide), attacks, grapples, etc.

I was just wondering if a halfling became a dwarf, would they be naked (clothes don't fit so get absorbed), or would the equipment resize as with enlarge person? Would the weapons do more damage like enlarge person, or stay the same like the physical stats?

Equipment changes with you, if you can use it..
Size modifiers apply as normal.

if you can use it
Yeah, what does that mean? If I'm a halfling wearing full-plate and alterself into a dwarf, or worse a lizardfolk, does my full-plate get bigger and fit me like it did when I was a halfling?

It means that if somehow you turned into a form that wouldn't allow you to use that equipment you can't use it until you turn back.

If it doesnt resize you cant use it though :) So that just basically means you go in a circle.

Just convince your DM to use Skip's rules of the game article ... he basically interprets it such that if you can use a version of the item appropriate for your size then it will resize if need be.

To give you an actual answer that helps, anything that is humanoid in shape can use anything you can normally use, and it resizes to fit the new form. Size modifiers of course apply. You're no longer small!

A dog with all dog equipment that alterselfs into a cat gets new catsized equipment that it can still use. If it turned into an octopus it could wear its hats and arm bracelets, but nothing else.
